I am so grateful for all the things our elders taught us to prepare for a time such as this. We were also gifted with basic survival skills.
Mommie used to make us eat every fruit and vegetable created by God and man..lolol! Grandmother Baker, taught us how to season and measure with our fingers, other senses, and instinct. Poppie, my paternal Grandfather, taught me how to tend to a garden and cook my vegetables.
In an effort to stretch my veggies and to eat as healthy as possible, all of the ingredients, and benefits of eating my Bakergirls Immune System Boosting soup are noted below. Talk about the power of veggies. I could feel this soup running through my veins and literally giving me a natural high. Energy for days!
All of the herbs, spices, veggies and rhizome (ginger root) have minerals, vitamins and more. For the purpose of this informative message, I chose to focus mostly on their healing traits. Otherwise, my blog would be endless.
Disclaimer: Do not try all of the herbs, spices and veggies simultaneously, if you are not accustomed to eating or utilizing them. I didn’t share the specific amounts, only the ingredients which are used sparingly. Herbs and spices are very powerful. Proceed with caution. Figure out what is agreeable with your body’s systems and what you like. Make sure you don’t have any allergies. Pair 2 to 3 seasonings according to your taste and/or according to the general best practices of each seasoning per ½ gallon of broth. To be clear, I am not a doctor or a health physician, but I am a Baker Girl, home grown, with sunkissed skin, raised by the wise elders ❤️.
