Plans of Action Houston’s CEO, Leona Baker, was invited to attend the Mayor’s History Makers Awards. She invited STEM Bridges Houston’s CEO Mrs. Jacqueline Howard Carr to partake in the festivities as her guest. Networking was very beneficial for the next up and coming 2020 STEM Bridges Houston Gala.
About the event, as documented in Houston Style Magazine:
In celebration of Black History Month, Comcast announced it partnered once again with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner to honor community volunteers at the third annual Mayor’s History Makers Awards. Held at the Post Oak Hotel, the honorees will be recognized for their commitment to making a difference in the community through volunteerism, mentorship, advocacy and civic engagement.
“The History Makers Awards are an opportunity to recognize Houstonians who have made significant contributions to the community by dedicating their time, talent and resources to improve the lives of others,” Mayor Sylvester Turner said. “I want to thank Comcast for creating this exceptional event to celebrate diversity and Black History, and for exemplifying good corporate citizenship through commitment and action.”
